Malania oleifera seeds
Malania oleifera seeds have two major practical uses: propagation through sowing and oil extraction. When used for cultivation, viable seeds can be sown in well-drained humus soil under suitable temperature and humidity conditions to germinate seedlings. With proper shade, regular watering and nutrient management, these seedlings will grow into mature trees that produce new seeds continuously, supporting sustainable breeding and conservation of this rare endemic plant.
Apart from planting, the seeds are excellent raw material for oil pressing. Rich in nervonic acid, the oil extracted from kernels can be applied in health care, cosmetics and fine chemical industries. Farmers and processors can harvest seeds each year: part of the stock is reserved for sowing to expand planting scale, while the remainder is pressed into high-value seed oil. This dual-purpose characteristic makes Malania oleifera seeds economically significant, combining ecological reproduction value with commercial oil-production benefits.
